Perception of beauty of the human body in different cultures

We consider the ideals of beauty in cultures of Ancient Greece, China in VI-V centuries BC., Europe in the Middle Ages, Islamic countries, Germany in the XIX century. We compared the views of philosophers and generally accepted views concerning beauty of the human body. We found the changes in attitudes to this notion over time and examined the dependence of the perception of beauty on various circumstances.
