The article is devoted to the circumstances of the life of an Austrian psychiatrist, psychologist and neurologist, a former prisoner of the Nazi concentration camp Viktor Frankl, the famous creator of logotherapy — the method of psychoanalysis, which became the basis of the Third Vienna School of Psychotherapy. The time of his life coincided with one of the most terrible events in world history — the Second World War, but it was this that allowed him to get the rarest experience and develop his own theory. Life in the ghetto, no matter how hard it was, interested him as a scientist and it was the basis for his scientific research. In the concentration camp Viktor Frankl developed and applied methods to help people who had lost all hope of living.
