The article is devoted to analyzing the solutions implemented into the intelligent transport systems for metropolises. Conceptually we consider the KyosanArtemis system installed in one of the streets in Moscow. The benefits and drawbacks of the applied solutions are revealed. We suggest a concept of the original system for improving the traffic that allows putting in new components of the information data exchange regarding the situation on the road. This system is supposed to be used for both traffic simulation and traffic management on a real time basis. The further elaboration of the proposed concept is intended to increase the efficiency of using the intelligent transport systems.
