The article considers various competing solutions in the field of information systems taking into account the specific nature of different enterprises operation. It presents in detail the advantages and disadvantages of one of the most wide-spread programmes on automation of accounting work “1C: Accounting”. The authors note that it is important to make allowance for all the specific features of work when selecting software for bookkeeping and tax accounting. The program product must meet the demands of a particular business as accurately as possible. We describe the main advantages and show the configuration of the system “1C: Integrated Automation 8 8.3”. The work briefly reviews the software alternative versions in the field of accounting: the national systems “Galaktika” and “Parus”, the foreign systems SAP and Microsoft Dinamics Axapta.
