Aerial photogrammetry is an important part of photogrammetry. Photogrammetry can be divided into analogue photogrammetry, analytical photogrammetry, and digital photogrammetry according to the degree of development. However, aerial photogrammetry is characterized by a complex development path, the number of disciplines involved and the abundance of digital products. To better study its development, it is necessary to understand the characteristics, equipment and workflow of each stage according to its development path. The workflows of each type of photogrammetry are investigated. The classes of aerial photogrammetric mapping of the underlying surface used in modern applications are considered. Possible ways of further improvement of aerial photogrammetric technologies are indicated.
