The paper is concerned with recent events on the Korean Peninsula, namely the Inter-Korean Summit of the Heads of the Two States — the Republic of Korea and the DPRK, increased in the Pacific region, the spread of the Korean market, etc. The authors analyzed and explained the reasons for the split of the Korean Peninsula, the reasons for the continuing contradictions and difficulties in the relationship of these states. The text deals with an assessment to the restored bilateral dialogue of states after its interruption against the background of a crisis in relations, the outcome of which was the conclusion of the Panmunjom Declaration. The authors showed and listed the points of this declaration put into practice and the possible ways of further developments on the Korean Peninsula.
