The concept, essence and importance of forensic video-technical expertise in the context of modern judicial proceedings

The article is devoted to one of the relatively new and promising areas of forensic examination - forensic video-technical expertise. Its general concept is given, the place of video-technical expertise in the classification of forensic examinations is determined, its immediate objects of research, including their diagnostic properties, are analyzed. The article discusses the specific expert tasks of the research and provides a list of the necessary software for solving the tasks assigned to the judicial video-technical expert, describes in detail the course of the video-technical expertise in the investigation of a traffic accident. The analysis of the current state of the video-technical expertise has been also performed and its role has been determined in the conditions of modern judicial proceedings.
