Effective assessment of risks of intellectual property management in a commercial organization

The possibility of using existing risk assessment models in the management of intellectual property in a commercial organization is analyzed, a method for effective risk management in the field of intellectual property management is proposed. The paper gives a list of risks faced by a commercial organization in the process of managing intellectual property. Based on the example of these risks, a conclusion is drawn on which model is effectively applied to a particular risk, depending on how it is possible to assess the damage to the organization in the event of a risk: qualitatively or quantitatively or both qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results of applying quantitative and qualitative risk assessment models, it is possible to assess not only the possible damage to the organization, but also the effectiveness of the organization’s intellectual property management policy.
