Legal protection of artificial intelligence and artificial intelligence technologies as an object of intellectual property rights in the Russian Federation

This paper focuses on the positions of the legal regulation of artificial intelligence technology in the Russian legislation. The basic concepts of artificial intelligence and its structural elements are analyzed, the aspects of normative fixation and adoption of artificial intelligence both in the Russian Federation and in foreign countries are considered. The historical information about the process of patenting of artificial intelligence is given. The statistics of this process is given and the most common objects of patenting are highlighted. In the course of the work, it is proposed to reflect and specify in the civil legislation the meaning of the term "artificial intelligence", as well as to introduce at the federal level the normative legal act regulating the issues of ethics of artificial intelligence.
