Lift-transporting systems are used for tilting and mounting column devices in the oil and chemical industries. The study of these structures for strength allows to find critical spot and form recommendations for operation. In this article, a static calculation is carried out for the strength of the finite element beam model of the entire structure and the fastening model, since the latter is a critical spot. A new approach of research and analysis is used: the method of substructures, which consists of carrying out calculations in several stages, at different stages models. First, a complete beam model of the structure was calculated — according to the specifications, all elements have sufficient strength. Two critical spots were identified: the base of the supports and the fastening of the beams. To fastening of the beams, a separate model was made, a substructure, which was calculated statically, with imposed boundary conditions from the beam model. According to the results, the substructure also has sufficient strength. The substructure method reduces the required computing power and makes it more accurate evaluate the loads on individual nodes. Calculations using the substructure method allow to switch to dynamic calculation and then evaluate the possibility of automating the system.
