This article describes the development of a conceptual art car wash in terms of industrial design. The results of each stage (design research, conceptual design, final design) are described. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of designing the art objects, highlighting the fundamental differences between these approaches from the process of creating industrial products. Some auxiliary methods and tools used by modern industrial designers are considered. The directions and significance of design activity in the XXI century, its prospects and socio-cultural aspect are reconsidered on the example of art car wash design concept. The key stages of work on the design project are illustrated, and the potential ways of its further development are outlined.
