The paper is devoted to a comprehensive study of modern methods in design — scenario analysis, situational analysis, as well as current methods and tools associated with them. The main features of these methods are highlighted, characterized and supplemented; recommendations and clarifications on their application are given. All aspects under consideration are illustrated by examples from student projects performed by the author. Particular attention is paid to the practical part of the work: the original design-project of a sound bracelet, which integrated the methods of scenario and situational analysis, was developed in the course of the study. The results are described in detail and their significance in the field of design research is shown.
