Improving the reliability of measurement results in in tire-road grip tests

The tire-road grip effect is investigated, the methods and means of its estimation are proposed. The influence of speed modes and weather conditions during tests on the results of measurements is considered. Calculations of correlation functions for measuring results of grip coefficient and the mentioned factors have been carried out. Measures to improve the standard test methodology through additional processing of measurement results are proposed. Correlation processing allows to reduce dispersion on 6,14 % in considered speed range. Based on the analysis of the measuring channel composition, it is proposed to use high-precision fiber-optic sensors to measure the coupling force. Calculations show that their application increases the accuracy of measurements during tests by 7.2 times.
