The article discusses the types of polymer materials, their classification and application. Polymer coatings are films based on high molecular weight compounds formed by drying liquid coatings with protective and decorative properties. Due to their strength and resistance to external influences, polymers are widely used in metallurgy to protect against corrosion and other factors. The main categories of polymers, such as polyesters and plastisols, as well as the processes of their application are described. The need for further research to create more effective materials is emphasized.
