Scientific saturdays for schoolchildren at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University

The article is devoted to vocational guidance and professional self-determination of schoolchildren within the framework of the Scientific Saturdays project of the Moscow Department of Education at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. The established practices and ways in organizing various kinds of events that contribute to formation of technical abilities with the schoolchildren, their involvement in practical, design, research and science oriented activities were analyzed. It is shown that a certain methodology for conducting Scientific Saturdays was created allowing students to try their hand in solving the scientific problems with the use of modern technologies and development of their projects in various areas of science and technology. This approach strengthens motivation and contributes to effective selection of further study and professional activities.
