The history of the first soviet blooming and its designers

The paper describes a brief history of the creation of the first blooming - crimping mill for preliminary crimping steel ingots of large cross section into blooms. The way of creating Soviet blooming from the first draft to the first rolled stock is shown. Biographies are given of key figures who were directly involved in the creation of the first Soviet blooming. The scale of the project is described, which was expressed in the form of popularization of coins, stamps and magazines dedicated to the first Soviet blooming. Based on the study, it is proposed to highlight the importance of its creation for the development of not only heavy industry, but also other industries, such as metallurgy, tractor, automobile, and aircraft construction. The history of the emergence of the Department of Rolling and Drawing Production at the Bauman Moscow Mechanical Engineering Institute.
