Trends and Factors Influencing the Alcohol Drinking Behaviour of Young People Today

The problem of alcohol drinking behaviour is highly important in modern society. The contradictory changes in the socio-cultural environment increase the tension in the process of socialization of young people, often provoking the deviant behaviour. Every year the amount of alcohol consumed among young people increases and the age of the first alcohol use decreases. The number of factors negatively affecting lifestyle and behavioural patterns among young people is increasing. The article describes the main trends in the development of alcohol drinking behavior in modern Russia, reveals external and internal factors of alcohol drinking behavior formation among young people, and briefly characterizes the consequences of alcohol consumption.
