Legal aspects of protection of honor, dignity and business reputation in the media

The paper describes the features of protection of honor, dignity and business reputation from encroachments in the mass media. The author revealed and considered legislatively enshrined methods of honor, dignity and business reputation protection by subjects of civil legal relations, defamed by publishing false information in the media. The circle of persons bearing civil liability for the dissemination of such information is also indicated. The conclusion is formulated that the implementation of its function by the media, which is to form public opinion, dictates the need to carefully check published materials for compliance with reality in order to avoid diminishing the right of citizens to a good name.
