Analysis of dangerous resonant modes of the traction electric drive of an urban electric bus

The dangerous resonance modes of urban electric bus traction drive during its operation are considered, and a detailed method of urban electric bus dynamic system calculation is presented. The natural frequencies and vibration shapes of the vehicle dynamic system are calculated. The most dangerous frequencies and amplitudes of system oscillations at resonance modes as well as tension, appearing in the elements of traction electric drive, are determined. It is concluded that the values of stresses in the traction electric drive are small enough and are not able to cause the destruction in the system of transmission, as the amplitude pulsation of the torque of traction motor is small. The calculation method outlined in this article can be applied to the analysis of dynamic systems of electric traction vehicles.
