Stirling engines are an alternative to internal combustion engines in cases where it is necessary to utilize heat supplied from an external source, in particular solar energy, and ensure long-term maintenance-free operation. The object of the study was a Stirling free-piston engine powered by a linear electric generator. The system of automatic control of the frequency of the generated current by an electric generator with a Stirling motor is investigated. Using the SimInTech software package, the transient process of applying a full load to an electric generator is calculated. The optimal values of the coefficients of the proportional, integral and differential components of the PID regulation law have been determined, ensuring the requirements of GOST R 55231–2012 for the limiting values of the duration of the transition process and overshoot.
